Dr. Jennifer Prada-Moreno, PhD, LMHC

Dr. Jennifer Prada-Moreno is a Latina Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology who provides therapy in both English and Spanish. She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. Dr. Prada-Moreno also supports women navigating various stages, challenges, and transitions in life. Through compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care, she helps clients heal, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

With over 10 years of experience as a therapist, Dr. Prada-Moreno has worked extensively with individuals facing a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. She has significant experience supporting survivors of trauma, including domestic violence, human trafficking, and intimate partner violence. Dr. Prada-Moreno is deeply committed to helping women navigate complex life experiences in a safe and supportive space. In her work, she empowers women to rebuild confidence, strengthen boundaries, reconnect with their sense of self, and break away from unhealthy patterns so they can improve their relationships, careers, and support systems while cultivating greater emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Dr. Prada-Moreno works with individuals, couples, and families facing relationship challenges, with a focus on communication, connection, and healthy relationship dynamics. Her experience in couples and family therapy also informs her work with individual clients, helping them develop stronger communication skills, set healthy boundaries, and build effective coping strategies they can bring back into their relationships and family systems. This relational perspective is especially valuable in her work supporting women’s mental health, as she helps women better understand relationship patterns, strengthen their sense of self, and create more balanced, fulfilling connections in their personal and family lives.

Her therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), attachment-based therapeutic techniques where clinically appropriate, and other evidence-based interventions to support healing and personal growth. CBT helps clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, which can be especially helpful for common concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and major life transitions. When working with trauma, Dr. Prada-Moreno may also incorporate attachment-based approaches to help clients explore how early relationships and life experiences shape patterns of connection, trust, and emotional safety. Through these approaches, clients learn practical tools to manage overwhelming thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and respond to challenges in ways that improve emotional wellbeing and daily functioning.

Dr. Prada-Moreno also has an extensive background in substance use treatment across multiple levels of care, including Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and traditional outpatient programs. Through this experience, she has worked with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, recognizing that many clients may struggle with concerns such as anxiety, depression, or trauma alongside substance use. She takes an integrated, nonjudgmental approach to treatment, helping clients build coping skills, develop relapse prevention strategies, and create sustainable pathways toward recovery while supporting their overall emotional wellbeing.

While maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment, Dr. Prada-Moreno also believes in appropriately challenging and encouraging clients to promote insight, accountability, and meaningful personal growth. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, direct, and conversational, creating a space where clients feel comfortable openly exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In sessions, clients can expect thoughtful guidance, practical feedback, and supportive dialogue that helps them gain clarity, build confidence, and develop tools to navigate challenges both in and outside of therapy.
